Purpose:
The purpose of multi-genre writing is to give students the opportunity to analyze a particular subject in a way that is less structured than a traditional research paper. Multi-genre research and writing allows students to use their own creativity to develop voice, style and audience awareness. Although students may not be conducting formal research, they still must employ the same research skills to create a multi-genre project. By publishing their work in an electronic format, students have the opportunity to share their thoughts, feeling, and ideas in a way that fosters 21st century learning.
